What is NaviTap and how does it work?
With NaviTap, travel made easy. Purchase your daily ticket directly on board, without stopping at the ticket office, for all Navigazione Laghi routes within the Italian territory. Simply tap a contactless payment card or an NFC-enabled digital device (smartphone, smartwatch, wearable) on the validator to start your journey—quickly, easily, and securely.

How to Use the NaviTap System Onboard
Inform the onboard staff that you intend to use NaviTap.
Board the vessel and hold your card or device near the validator to complete the Tap-in (you’ll hear a sound and see “Buon Viaggio” on the display). Please note that it is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure the tap has been successfully registered.
Always perform the Tap-out when disembarking to ensure correct fare calculation. If Tap-out is not completed, the system will apply the full-day unrestricted travel fare across the entire network.
Fare Calculation and Charging
Standard adult fare based on actual travel segments (or zones, in the case of Lake Garda), with automatic application of the best available daily fare.
The amount will be automatically charged on the following day.
You may immediately receive a bank notification — this is a temporary pre-authorization, not the final charge.
Multiple Ticket Purchase with a Single Card
You can purchase up to 5 tickets using the same card or device.
Subsequent taps must be made within 60 seconds of the first tap.
Best Practices for Proper Use
Always use the same payment method (physical card or digital device) for both Tap-in and Tap-out.
Avoid accidental taps with different cards.
Ticket Verification
You may be required to show the card/device used or provide the last four digits of the card number (physical or virtual).
Screenshots or printed copies are not accepted as proof of payment.
Limitations and Warnings
The system cannot be used for reduced fares (e.g., children, groups, etc.).
The system does not apply to luggage, bicycles, or accompanied vehicles.
The system is not valid for high-speed services (SR).
