The future is precious and… hybrid!

TOPAZIO, the new hybrid ferryboat, makes its debut on Lake Maggiore.

The top management of Navigazione Laghi presented the new motor vessel Topazio during a ceremony held on board the historic steamboat Piemonte, moored in the port of Arona. Topazio is the first diesel – electric hybrid vessel in service on Italy’s inland waters. Built in the Cartubi shipyard of Trieste and completed in Arona in January 2021 with the utmost attention to accessibility for disabled people and usability requirements, Topazio can accommodate 200 passengers seated in great comfort. The vessel, which relies on an electric propulsion system when approaching and leaving ports and electric/diesel power for the other operations, is a crowning achievement for Navigazione Laghi. It is the result of the sustainable commitment of the governing body which, over the past few years, has devoted funds and hard work in new projects dedicated to modernization and new constructions, with a strong focus on ecology and the environment. Topazio is the first Inland Navigation vessel to qualify for the Italian Naval Register’s Green Plus certification. An acknowledgement attesting to how the vessel has been designed and equipped with systems, components and procedures able to control and prevent emissions of polluting substances into the waters, air or, more generally, the environment.

The second issue of the new magazine of Navigazione Laghi is now available for free at the ticket offices of the main docks.

Just yesterday the blocks of the new 350-passenger motorship arrived from Cantieri Navali di Chioggia at Navigazione Lago di Garda shipyard in Peschiera.

The new ship will sail the waters of Lake Garda from the next season.

The transfer took place at night through exceptional transport.

From the Navigazione Lago di Garda shipyard the new boat will be assembly and all the finishing will be carried out.

A note to our Customers: in implementation of Art. 1, paragraph 909, of Law no. 205 (27 December 2017), Gestione Governativa Navigazione Laghi [Governing Management for Lake Navigation] built an ad-hoc portal for issuing electronic billing for travel documents purchased from private ticket offices and/or authorised points of sale.

Access to this portal – instituted to encourage and assist its customer base to comply with new tax regulations, is available at the following URL https://efatture.navigazionelaghi.it/it/index.aspx as well as linked from the company’s official website (from the home page).

Beginning on 1 January next, those customers requesting an invoice upon purchasing their tickets – no later than the moment the transaction is effected – as required under Article 22, paragraph 1 of Presidential Decree no. 633/1972, a ticket with an “invoice-request code” shall be issued.

The ticket holder – after signing up on the aforementioned portal – may perfect and confirm their request for an invoice, in accordance with the terms set by the law, by entering the aforementioned code along with the identifiers (date, number, amount) for the ticket in their possession.

The platform will then send the customer notices regarding the issuance of the tax document the customer has requested.

Please note that pursuant to Article 1, paragraph 1, of Ministerial Decree of 30 June 1992, travel tickets act as a tax receipt (as an alternative to an invoice) and may therefore are fully deductible.

Work in progress on the new ship of 350 passengerers for the Garda Lake at the Cantieri Navali Chioggia facility; Delivery is expected on next March 2019.

The new ship can reach a speed of 12,5 knots, thanks to MCR engine power.

The Condor vessel has now officially entered the NLM fleet, which will then reach 37 units. The Peschiera Shipyard was released to arrive, thanks to an exceptional transport, at the Arona Shipyard.
From the same series of the boat Albatros, the 130-passenger motorboat will take the service carried out on the short routes of the Borromeo Gulf and Arona-Angera connection
